Devotions

“Reader, by that love looking out of Jesus' tearful eyes, by that love streaming from those bleeding wounds, by that faithful love, that strong love, that pure, disinterested, and abiding love; by the heart and by the bowels of the Saviour's compassion, we conjure you turn not away as though it were nothing to you; but believe on him and you shall be saved. Trust your soul with him and he will bring you to his Father's right hand in glory everlasting.”

— Charles Spurgeon, 7 December (Morning) Devotions

This is the one year that I actually stuck to bible reading (although sadly I did not spend my entire year wisely) and have finished 5 books of the New Testament and moving on to the 6th. Making sure I read the bible everyday really changes me; thank you God.

My sins are as many, but thank God for the punishments he has given me, and thank God for the compassion he has shown me. Lord, your salvation is truly the best gift I’ve ever received in my life. Please teach me not to use this salvation as a license to sin, but rather that I may keep myself holy and righteous because of this salvation.

Lord, bless my day before me, that I may glorify you in all that I do. May every action of mine be carried out with you in my thoughts.

In your son’s most precious name, Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
