Numb

Today I visited my grandfather at the hospital because he's going to have a operation tomorrow, and I miss him, and he'll be very lonely in the hospital without company so yeah.

I walked out of the hospital with mixed feelings today lolol.

Also, can I just declare how thankful I am that my mother ditched JC for nursing school? If it wasn't for her, my grandfather would have to wait 6 months JUST to consult the doctor about his heart, and who knows what'd have happened by then?

I ditched the last hour of GenEd so that I could get magazines/newspapers for my grandfather before I visit him. He's already so lonely in Malaysia even with my grandmother's company, can't imagine how much lonelier he feels in the hospital, sigh.

Got there, and realise that my granduncle was there. The granduncle I've been avoiding since like, forever. I saw him last when I was a little child, sigh. Didn't expect him to be there lol.

Grandfather said that mum wanted to oversee the operation tomorrow, but the nurses asked her not to because they'd be stressed out under her supervision haha.

My mum's name kinda pulls a lot of weight in the hospital man. I'm so proud of my mummyyyyyy.

Anyway, my granduncle was being as annoying as fuck because he kept convincing my grandfather that it was okay to leave the world at this age, and stuffs like that, and my grandfather insisted that he can't because he haven't found someone to take care of his church in his absence.

And my granduncle was like telling him that it's okay, God will take care of it.

WELL EXCUSE ME, BUT WOULD YOU KINDLY SHUT UP. He was totally ruining my quality time with my grandfather.

Thankfully he had to leave for a long phone call, so my grandfather and I finally had some peace.. and then slowly our conversation led to our dearest Jinxin.

Grandfather told me about his last day.

When service ended on Sunday, people were somehow a lot more lively than usual. Everyone was joking around, and apparently the topic of the day was about Jinxin's wedding, and everyone wanted to be their bridesmaid and groomsmen, and they were all having a gale of a time.

My grandfather was telling Jinxin that he wanted to get a tree chopped down, and he asked JX to accompany him to ask the government for permission (or something like that), and JX readily agreed, saying that it was a good idea, and that they could plant something nicer, and he said that they should go the next day (Monday).

They were having a very happy conversation, so Xiaojing jie asked to take a picture of them, and they happily agreed.

This was their last picture together. It was also the last time Jinxin attended church. It was also the last time my grandfather saw him.

K I just saw what my grandfather commented on the picture.

Also, Jinxin was planning to come over to Singapore to work. He already packed his stuffs, and resigned from his previous job.

I was so sad when I heard that because that meant that Jinxin would come over to my church in Singapore, and then it'll be so fun because there'll be Sioklian, and Huixin, and him :'(

But before he left, his mother insisted that he visit his grandfather because his grandfather was dying, and that he should see him before he leave for Singapore.

So that very night, he got in the car with his cousin and his sister. He rode shotgun, and his cousin drove. His cousin was a new driver, and was not very experienced.

They already got to Kedah (his hometown), and they stopped to have early breakfast before continuing on to his grandfather place I think.

So after breakfast, they drove on.. and their car was following closely behind this big car (my grandfather said it was a big car in chinese.. I'm assuming it's an SUV), and they were on a two laned road.

The car in front made a turn at a junction, and because they were too close, they crashed into an oncoming car from the other direction. That wasn't that bad because the front was protected by the car's bumper, and also there was a fair bit of distance between their bodies and the car, so it wasn't a direct hit.

However, the cousin panicked, and swerved to the right (instead of staying put) and I think this other car (could be the same car, idk) crashed into them.

Now, the thing is, they swerved to the right, so the car crashed into the left side of their vehicle.. and remember when I said Jinxin was riding shotgun..? Yeah the car crashed right into him. He got the direct hit.

When my grandfather heard of the accident, he called a friend who was near the area to go check on him. Alice and Xiaojing already took a flight there to visit him, but I guess he didn't want to ask Alice because she must be very distraught already..

My grandfather's friend went to visit.. and according to my grandfather, he recoiled at the sight of him and immediately called my grandfather, telling him to not see Jinxin at any cost, because he didn't want my grandfather to see the state Jinxin was in.

His left side of the body was heavily injured. His face was badly scarred I think, his arm was covered in injuries, and his left thigh was broken.

And then yeah, I knew the rest of the story from there. He was pronounced brain dead the next day (Tuesday), he couldn't breathe by himself, and his heart wasn't beating. They had to put him on life support. His body was still alive, but he was gone.

They removed life support on Thursday, around 5PM.

I have never seen my grandfather look so sad, not until today. We've lost family members, and family friends, and I've never seen him this upset.

:'(

Then my grandfather said that he was reflecting on why God took Jinxin away, and then he was comforted because he realised that Jinxin was leading a very hard life. His dad was constantly in debts, his dad borrowed money from my grandfather and another Pastor, and Jinxin had to support him. He was earning minimal wages, and he barely had any money for himself, and he had to deal with his family, who were very bad people, according to my grandfather.

Hardly anybody knew of this because he was such a jovial man, and I've never seen him frown, not even once. And I knew him since I was 7 or 8. Definitely before I was 9 years old because I remembered him helping us to bury our Rottweiler, and my Rottweiler passed on when I was 9.

God took him back home :')

Oh by the way his grandfather passed on the next day.
