Reunion of Friends

HELLO, it took me long enough, but here I am! Harry Potter Exhibition was the bomb, but I gotta save them pictures first, so wait for me okay, please don't kill me (ahem, novy, ahem).

-------------

OKAY I'm back, after this really scary threat from the bestfriend:

I'm gonna make this as detailed as possible though, so this might take awhile.

So yesterday I woke up feeling like the world couldn't stop me, because yesterday I woke up knowing that I'll be spending the later part of the day at the Harry Potter Exhibition.

Oh and for those who are interested (which is to say, nobody), I did not wake up at 8AM, as planned. I mean there was no need for that anymore, right? I woke up at 11.30AM feeling soooooo good, because the last time I woke up after 9.30AM was... pretty long ago.

I.. really have no idea what I did before I started preparing for the exhibition. I did a bit of IDD, but I'm pretty sure that didn't take up all my time.

But anyway, so I eventually left my place around 1.50PM. I was supposed to meet the favourites at Tanah Merah's station at 2.15PM, and I thought I was making good time.

I was on the bus when Novy called and asked in this really panicky voice, if I passed her the tickets.

I freaked. (Yes, I freaked out a lot these days, I don't think it's very healthy tbh) Because her outburst led me to the realisation that I forgot the tickets.

And no, I didn't pass her the tickets, so all 8 tickets were with me. THE RESPONSIBILITY THAT COMES WITH GREAT POWER.

It IS powerful when you hold 8 tickets to Harry Potter: The Exhibition, 'specially when it's on the first day.

So anyway, I rushed back to get the tickets, and rushed all the way to Tanah Merah. The weather was hellish too, definitely not cool.

DID YOU GET THE PUN.

SO moving on. Hakeem, Jialat, Kai, Larry and Maisheng were there already. We all waited for Novy and Zubair for a bit, then the 8 of us took the train down to Bayfront.

The train ride itself was so funny. Bai keep shouting things like, "What? Blowjob?" whenever somebody say something to him, and it was so embarrassing.

I have the most annoying friends ever, but they're also the friends I love the most. Go figure.

So we all made our way to the ArtScience Museum, and I was skipping along like I was a brownie girl selling cookies or something, I WAS IN SUCH A CHEERY MOOD.

Oh and Novy took this picture of the boys, and I thought it look really nice. So, random photo.

Entered the Museum, and I got on full fangirl mode. HOLY MOTHER OF QUEEN ROWLING. HARRY POTTER EVERYWHERE. JA;WIKJ;AKSJ;DIGASDJFKAJ

This was the firs thting we saw when we entered the museum, and of course this calls for a photo-taking session. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. LOOK AT HEDWIG, JUST LOOK AT THE ADORABLENESS (woah that word exists) OF HEDWIG.

Tickets!

So we went down, and the first thing we saw was the Weasleys' Blue Ford Anglia. I hope you all know me well enough to know that the next line that comes after this is.. I freaked.

THE FREAKING, FORD ANGLIA, FROM THE FREAKING, MOVIE. The window's not broken though. I think this was from before Harry and Ron flew into the Whomping Willow.

RANDOM POTTER FACT: 14 Ford Anglias were used when they filmed the Whomping Willow + Ford Anglia scene.

We weren't even in the Exhibition itself, and it was already so grand. There can only be one word to describe the exhibition, and that is magical. It was so, beautiful. The emotions I felt cannot be described. It was a whole concoction of wonder, love, nostalgia, and burning curiosity. It was so beautiful. Please, if you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you HAVE to visit this.

I have a few more, but I don't want to be spoiling it for you. I want it to be one of the best experience you ever had, because the effort put in this exhibition deserves that at least.

Just know that my heart was this close to bursting from all the emotions. Bloody hell, my emotional range matches Ron's. XD

There was this black backdrop, and professional camera lights and stuffs for a photoshoot. Sort of photoshoot. We were given scarves and wands, and we all posed for a picture.

We get to pick from three background's: Hagrid's Hut, The Great Hall or Hogwarts.

We picked The Great Hall 'cause of reasons.

The exhibition itself was amazing. Not sure if you've read articles about the Exhibition (because I did), but it was every bit as amazing as described. It wasn't exaggerated at all.

Of course, there was the Sorting Hat. When they asked for volunteers, my hand shot up as quickly as Hermione's did when a professor asked a question.

We also got to pull mandrakes, and I shot quaffles.

I am proud to say that I'd make a fair chaser. I shot 3 quaffles, and they all went through the middle hoop. Aye, it is my dream quidditch position after all.

Of course it's gonna be so much harder on a broomstick but I'm pretty sure I'll manage.

Okay my mind is running off again.

Also, I'm a huge coward when it comes to ghoulish things like ghosts, demons or whatevs. But Harry Potter's dementors and graveyard scenes don't creep me out at all.

I mean bloody hell, look at these things:

They're creepy as shit if I didn't know the series so well.

Also, bloody hell, you wouldn't believe the size of Hagrid. I mean you would. I mean I do believe it, but he didn't look THAT huge in the movies. I MEAN HE DID, but it's like, looking at his actual height itself, up close in real life, is a whole different story.

ALSO THE SOUNDTRACKS. THE BLOODY SOUNDTRACKS. THEY PLAYED COURTYARD APOCALYPSE. Can everybody who doesn't know this soundtrack, go listen to it please.

Okay I think I've gone on too much about the soundtracks, but they're so beautiful.

The exhibition was pretty short though. I'm not sure if it's because I want more, being the greedy person I am, but nevertheless, it was satisfactory.

Right after the exhibition was of course, the gift shop.

That place, my friends, is the one place you should go to buy all my birthday presents and christmas presents. Since the exhibition ends at 30th September this year, you might want to buy me presents in advance. I wouldn't mind, honest.

Hehe ;)

IT WAS PARADISE THOUGH. I felt like I was shopping in this oversized Ollivanders shop or something. There were wands everywhere, scaraves, maps (I NEED TO GET THIS, IT IS A NECCESITY, I NEED TO SATISFY MY INNER MARAUDER), shirts, hoodies (I want this too), books, chocolate frogs, little trinkets, necklaces, rings, brooms, posters etc.

I was walking around feeling depressed as hell 'cause everything was so overpriced, and I only had a measly red note (SGD$10 for all non-Singaporeans) on me.

The map itself costs $60. Definitely overpriced, but I'm still getting it.

And I wanted to get the Hedwig stuffed toy 'cause I really love Hedwig and she is such an underrated character okay.

But it costs like $100. Fucking hell.

It's actually a puppet, and her head can turn 360 degrees, and when you press her tail, she makes this really adorable chirpy owl sound. I WANT THIS but overpriced.

You know, I keep overhearing people saying that these stuffs are meant for hardcore fans. Stuffs like the necklaces and all.

I've honestly never considered myself as a hardcore fan, maybe because I've been around so many fans for so long, that I kind of have the perception that all fans are like that.

ANYWAY, there was once where Zubair and I pretended to duel. Him with Voldemort's wand, and me with Sirius'. The sales assistant person was sort of laughing at us, and telling us that she knows the spell to kill us, and she went like "ABRACADABRA!"

That deserved a huge facepalm. So Zubair and I corrected, and she got all flustered (in the nice way) and said she knew another spell, "Vinete Incantetum".

LE SIGHS. Corrected her again.

So she was all like, "my goodness, how do you guys know all these stuffs?" and I told her I was a hardcore fan, and this other sales assistant overheard us and told us she was one too.

INSTANT FRIENDSHIP.

Pity she doesn't have twitter though.

Yeah so anyway, we walked around, went to buy our photograph (the great hall one), and we got me the Sirius Black Wanted poster <3

Oh, and Novy got the photo with the leatherette cover, and it was gorgeous. Here, pictures.

LOOK AT THAT CREST, LOOK AT THAT. IT LOOK SO ROYAL. It's limited edition too, so you better get that ASAP.

My poster :')

On my wall. I can go to sleep easy now.

So anyway, we went out of the shop, and I was feeling all pouty and stuffs because I was so broke and I didn't want to be broke, and all I wanted to do was to buy the whole shop down and I don't understand why it's so hard because I really wanted everything ):

Although I later realise that I do have quite a bit of merchandises. But anyway.

Of course it doesn't do well to be pouty around my favourite people, because I can never feel too sad around these lovely idiots <3

We all took a lot of pictures.. so photo spam!

With the Ford Anglia!

The boys. (Larry left almost immediately after the exhibition)

I really like this shot. The best friend should have been in it though ):

Hakeem!

Jialat!

Kai!

Maisheng!

Novy!

Umm, but Novy and I realise that our photos look better when she's the one holding the camera, instead of asking the others to take the pictures for us, sooooo..

Also, random Instagram photo because I think our hair colour looks good here. Because of the filter but yeah.

And Zubair!

The kids who wore Harry Potter related stuffs!

Group photo with the Harry Potter backdrop.

Zubair and his (as quoted from Novy) annoyingly cute face.

The three drama kings LOL.

And I left this for the last because I love this the most. Not because my face is in the middle okay. Okay maybe a little. But really, it's nice. IT IS.

So anyway, everyone was starving by then, so we all walked this shop at the Singapore Flyer. PICTURES BECAUSE SCENERY IS GOOD FOR THE EYES.

Look at that pretty moon! (Instagram'd)

Sigh, the twins were there just a few many hours ago. (Instagram'd)

Singapore Flyer!

The bridge from Marina Bay Sands to.. wherever we were.

So anyway, we all settled down to have dinner at this rather high class coffeeshop. It sells bird nest, therefore it is high class.

I didn't have money, so Novy and Maisheng chipped in to buy a plate of kwayteow for me. I love you guys so much it hurts.

Thank you :')

By the way, while I was waiting for them to buy their food, I took pictures of all the Harry Potter stuffs around me 'cause I felt so Harry Potter-ish!!

Our paperbag.

My Slytherin tie.

My marauder wrist thing.

Novy's tote bag

My button sticker!

Anyway, it was really good to sit down at a huge table with all your favourite people, just having a simple meal with a simple conversation. I felt like I was eating with my family, and essentially, they are my family. After all (wait for it.. cliche line coming right up), friends are family you choose for yourself.

<3

We all walked down to City Hall after our meal, and took the train back to the East, because home is where the East is at. That did not make sense. But I have this longing for the East all the time now, because of school. Sigh.

Which reminds me, Maisheng said he had a nightmare about studying at SP. It was super funny IDEK why, even though his nightmare is reality for Hakeem, Jialat and I.

The school's awesome, the distance kills.

Kai, Maisheng and Zubair alighted at Tampines, while the rest of us went to Pasir Ris' McCafe to slack a little. Novy had her C3Melts, and Hakeem had Cinammon Melts.

We all talked a little, then Hakeem and Jialat left, so naturally the best friend and I had a much needed HTHT.

We talked about things only the both of us would understand, because we're both in pretty much similar situations when it comes to boy troubles, and family things.

She's the only one who'd truly understand my pain in not being able to visit my family. Urgh okay I'm not gonna talk about it, because I'm going to get all upset and stuffs so lets leave it at that.

We went off around 11PM and... SHE FELL DOWN THE STAIRS.

Gave me a mini heart attack, I was like WTF 'cause it was quite loud, and everyone was staring and it sounded really painful, ouch.

June started off really magical, and I hope my cheerful mood lasts me for a pretty long time!

Once again, thank you Hakeem, Jialat, Larry, Maisheng, Novy and Zubair for accompanying me today. You guys are fantastic, stay that way alright? <3

P.S
Did you notice that our names are all in perfect alphabetical order except for Zubair's?

Hakeem
Isabelle
Jiale
Khairul
Larry
Maisheng
Novy

and then

Zubair.

P.P.S
It's always nice to read about the same event from another person's perspective, so here's my bestfriend's blogpost: http://damn-thefuture.blogspot.sg/2012/06/harry-potter-exhibition.html, so read it maybe?
