Alone (Pt. 2)

SEPTEMBER 23

The days after the Gospel Rally was spent rushing our preparations for Mooncake Festival. Finalised songs (and discussed about a holiday together hahaha, that bonding speed seriously), finalised decoration plans.. and finally we gathered at Eion / Luwei's for a stayover to work on the decorations.

Yeesyuen and Sioklian were being the nicest supportive people ever. Yeesyuen offered to go over and help us with the decorations, and worked with us till 2.30AM. Sioklian offered to buy us Koi the next day, and it was a joy to receive our drinks :')

I had to work a full day that day so we were all rushing around. Luwei and Eion had to settle the lights and power points at the site, while Shanna and I had to do last minute shopping. Eventually crashed at the Yap's residence around 9PM, joined the family for dinner, and then started on work after we showered and all.

Shanna's fam came over as well because they were doing even more last minute shopping with Luwei at Mustafa, and they sent her home.

So.... Future song leader?
(I like how I posted the same caption for Shanna and I back in Christmas 2013 and look who really became one for cellgroup lol)

And so we began.. With Kodaline on the stereos.

"Do you want a glass of coke?"
"Yes."
"Do you want something special in it?"
"Yes."

Super shagged already.

Pretty paint!

Pretty huge flowers!

First coat, sigh.

SUPPPERRR, very important.

About half dead already, Eion and I walked Yeesyuen home in the 200+ PSI haze because it was 2.36AM and she's female.

Second coat, leaving the stuffs out to dry.

2 out of 4 huge flowers.

Us nua-ing in Eion's room because we couldn't sleep. We went back to our rooms at 4AM and.. Turns out that the 3 of us slept at 6AM anyway because we couldn't sleep.

Shanna and I had a very long heart-to-heart talk that night. I think the both of us always kind of knew that there was something wrong with the both of us, and wow it wasn't as difficult to open up when the kid lying down beside you is suicidal as heck and has no sense of belonging to anywhere, and doesn't have anywhere to call home, and doesn't believe it when people say they care because how could anyone care for someone like her.

I was just nodding vigorously and giving in my own inputs. I think we're both hella destructive for each other tbh, because of the thoughts we share.

But eventually I nodded off at 6AM,and kept waking up in between because I can never sleep in someone else's bed.. And eventually woke up at 9AM, when practice was at 11AM. I was so mad urgh. Kind of lazed in bed for an hour before an equally groggy Luwei called the both of us down for breakfast.

SEPTEMBER 24

One can always expect great food at the Yap's.

Continued our decorations for a bit before Weiguo and Shiquan came over to practice.

Lead guitarist trying to settle our chords for us.

Lunch! I cannot stand Weiguo and his cheeky face.
(I'm starting to develop an unusual lack of appetite, even when I'm hungry, it's annoying)

In between lunch and Ukulele's practice....... Was when our decorations started to screw up... We left the cut out words outside to dry. We were on the fourth coat of paint and it was starting to look really good........ Went out to paint the fifth coat and realised the wind ruined the words, and some of them were stuck together, and they tore, and we had spare glitter that landed in clumps on the words.

Wow the break my heart went through was ouch. Luwei and I stood there speechless.

We tried our best to salvage it with the remaining tube of paint but well, Murphy's Law happened. Weiguo accidentally rested his palm on one of the words, and then later on someone else accidentally flipped the paint onto her bag  and.. and it couldn't dry in time.. and we didn't use any of the words at all because it was all ruined.

I nearly broke down, I was so tired, and we spent so much time on the words, and I felt completely useless and stupid for not thinking it through properly. I felt completely useless. Sigh, but anyway, the ukulele team came over, and I was too tired to function already.

We kind of practiced for a bit, added in some last minute changes, then showered, packed, and the entire house full of guitarists and ukulele players were ready to go.

I was in the crankiest of mood by then, the slightest of thing could make me feel like the biggest crap in the world. It was basically an emotionally exhausting day (I think I've already noted that down).

Preparations at the site.

Starting to cheer up a little bit because of reasons.

All I Want is no more haze pls.

And then the bestfriend came over with her ah lian piercing!

Thanks for coming over, I'm sorry I'm always such a bad host.........

Final rehearsal.

Haha screwed up so bad, Eion and I couldn't see shit at all when it came to the last song, and that was the song I was most unfamiliar with, argh.

And then Dr Pui Wai learned from the mistakes of our positions, so we moved, and it was a lot easier to play. The crowd called for an encore after 月亮代表我的心 and I'm so thankful that we decided to change the sequence of the songs. Wow, feels pretty damn good to be asked for an encore.

The kid we met at the gospel rally. HOW ARE YOU 16, JOHN.

LANTERNS, MANY MANY LANTERNS.

Also glad the bamboo sticks didn't cut anyone lolol.

With the important people in my life :')

Always dropping my damn cap during group pictures, sigh.

Tian Hui, ever the cheerful behind-the-scenes guy.

It was such a great event and I think it was one of the best celebrations we ever did for Mooncake Festival, and I think everyone was still having leftover hype from the Gospel Rally tbh. So glad the event was so memorable for so many people. The amount of texts I received from everyone made everything so worth it.

From the Song Leading team, to the Ukulele team, to the East Cellgroup, to my beloved group of 4. Everyone was so supportive and appreciative of everyone and the love felt so strong and warm.

Luwei's texts though.. It was a few simple texts, but my heart ached so hard.

"Girl! Don't be upset ok! Like what I said in the group, I really enjoyed the process of working together. The time we had will neve repeat again, it is so precious. I belivewe also got closer through all these preparation right. I like working with you :)

Sorry I was a bit upset just now when I saw your frustration, I apologise okay don't take it to your heart lah belle mei mei.

Although we failed this time and things didn't turned to be what we planned and what we expected, but I am still very touch by the spirit and the united heart we had. This is what we should treasure when serving together *blowing kiss emoji*"

It just made me think of all the times I've served with everyone, and how supportive people like SL and YS have been, and wow, the love I have for RBPC is the kind of love my family taught me to have for the church.

Thank you so much everyone.

"He can't do art, he can't cut, he can't tie, he can't do anything!" LOL

SEPTEMBER 25

CUTIE.

SEPTEMBER 26

Happy belated Birthday Tina!

Main squad siol.

Auntie your aglio olio so nice.

SEPTEMBER 27

Our xiao bao bei!

Had class for the first time in the new location. I think I fucked up quite badly today I was so frustrated and tired (my sleepy cycle chart was horrible) I actually flared up at Uncle Hanwu today.. We usually sigh when he misunderstands us and we just kind of tune him off but today I flared up and told him that wasn't my point at all and.. And he was just like, "ohhh", and I felt like complete crap, sigh.

Also, class is mega distracting when we have a huge window, and you can see the adults having their theology class right outside yours.

YS and SY and John were waiting for me to get pictures from Pastor Nelson, and then to the toilet, and I didn't even know why SY and John were waiting but I'm not complaining though, haha.

SY was asking YS and I whether iPhone 5 was still in stock because she wanted to get an iPhone and she like 5's design more. I immediately launch into my Apple Salesman mode hahaha.

Accompanied her in the end because she was planning to walk around aimlessly looking for M1 / Singtel / Starhub in the east and I knew airport's M1 would be empty.

So guess who got an iPhone 6S instead of an iPhone 5 thanks to this very efficient salesperson?

Had a heck load of fun playing with the 3D touch thing.
